Oak Hill Country Estates
The Edwards Family homesteaded in the Horse Heaven Hills in 1904. That wheat farm is still in operation today, making it one of the oldest farming operations in the region,
having achieved “Century Farm” status in 2004.
The farming operation on Oak Street, the location of Oak Hill Country Estates, began in 1956. Owned and operated by a son of the original homesteading family it operated as an irrigated farm raising alfalfa, wheat, sugar beets, cattle and forage grasses. It continues in operation today growing forage grasses for horse feed and for sale to feed stores and to dairies. Located at the base of the Horse Heaven Hills at the dead end of South Oak Street, it remains an idyllic rural setting with surrounding views of the Tri Cities, the Blue Mountains, the Columbia River and the Horse Heaven Hills to the south that provide nearly unlimited horseback riding space literally from one’s back door.
